February newsletter

This half term we will be continuing exploring the area of Understanding of the World for the next 2 weeks and then move onto the area of Literacy.  We have followed the children’s interests and developed our role-play areas into a ‘Vets’ (Pre-school) and a ‘Doctors’ (Play-school).  Any resources you could send in would be appreciated.

Linking in with our Vets… we have a visit from Zoo Lab on Tuesday 23rd to introduce the older children to a selection of different animals, children will be able to discover more about them and how to handle them.  If you have a pet you could bring in over the next couple of weeks to show and talk to the children about please give us a ring.

We raised £300.00 for the British Heart Foundation at our Family Disco, linking in with all the work we have been doing around keeping healthy, we will be raising funds for Sports Relief on Wednesday 16th March, we will be asking children to dress up in Sports Kits and to bring a minimum donation of £1.00, Leeanne will be leading the fun sports activities.

We are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers, if you shop at Sainsbury’s please can you pop them in the collection box in the corridor?

It is World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March, when we will be encouraging the children to dress up as story book characters.

If you have any old/defunct computers, particularly lap-tops that you no longer require, the children really enjoy dismantling them and discovering what is inside, we would be grateful for any donations – please remove any information from them first!

Thank you for sending in your requests for next academic year, we will be confirming places next week. The newly funded children (who will be 3 before the 31st March) will receive their funding forms mid to end of March to be completed and returned to Jo.

Jo will be taking a well-deserved break the week beginning the 7th March, if you have any queries regarding payments etc. I will endeavour to help but may have to wait for the expert to return!!

Best wishes,

Julie
