March Newsletter

We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday then return for four days, sessional care break up again on 1st April for Spring Term holiday and will return to nursery on Monday 18th April, daycare remains open as usual.

The week we return we will have ‘Living Eggs’ arriving that we will keep here in an incubator to enable the children to see the hatching process, this is really exciting and in the past it has been very popular. We will be linking our planning to Understanding of the World, following the children’s interests and using the EYFS Learning Outcomes for guidance.

Denise Gaskell is currently on a period of leave due to personal circumstances, Shannon has moved full time into the Nest as she was already working part-time with our youngest children. Maddie Raven will be increasing her hours here to cover any staff absences and holidays assisted by an agency worker if necessary.

Becki Streets will be leaving us on 15th April, Becki has obtained a term-time position with a pre-school that will enable her to spend more time with her young son Harry. Becki has been working here for 6 years, we will all miss her and wish her ‘good luck’ in her new post.

I will be returning to doing the planning and other areas that Becki currently undertakes for a period of time until we recruit a new member of staff.

We have decided to start the recruitment process to find a Nursery Manager / Teacher who will support the day to day running of the nursery to allow me to focus on quality and the strategic development of nursery along with the facilities management with Alan. We do not anticipate that this will be an easy appointment and will spend time to make sure that we find the right person

Suzanne Henty one of parents is running a Marathon on 10th April to raise funds for Manchester Children’s Hospital she would be very grateful if parents from Fledglings could support her effort for this great charity please visit https://www.justgiving.com/suzanne-henty/ if you would like to sponsor her.

I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend.

Best wishes

Julie
